Choosing an Advisor is the first step to launching your new career. A GOOD Career Advisor will make all the difference in landing the dream job. If you don’t already know why you need a Career Advisor, click here!

As far as choosing a great Career Advisor, there are three things to know before you get started.

1. You Need a GUIDE

one that leads or directs another’s way

a person who exhibits and explains points of interest

something that provides a person with guiding information

“Guide.” Merriam-Webster.com Dictionary, Merriam-Webster, https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/guide. Accessed 5 Aug. 2020.

A guide is someone who leads and teaches. This means you are looking for a Career Advisor who will teach you how to land the job. They won’t do it for you… you have to roll up your sleeves and get to work.

The trick of course, is knowing where to apply your efforts. A good Career Advisor will empower you and give you the tools to succeed by GUIDING you through the process.

2. You need an EXPERT

one with the special skill or knowledge representing mastery of a particular subject

“Expert.” Merriam-Webster.com Dictionary, Merriam-Webster, https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/expert. Accessed 5 Aug. 2020.

Your goal is to land a dream career. You know that a Career Advisor is the best way to do that. Therefore, you need the best of the best. Don’t settle… only hire real industry experts.

Now, there are many “expert” Career Advisors with little or no actual experience as a recruiter. This means that they do not know the real tricks of the trade. Only someone who has worked for many years in the hiring field can give you expert advice!

3. You need a MOTIVATOR

one that motivates or impels someone or something

“Motivator.” Merriam-Webster.com Dictionary, Merriam-Webster, https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/motivator. Accessed 5 Aug. 2020.

A career search can be frustrating and exhausting. Especially if you feel like you aren’t being noticed or even getting a foot in the door…

A good Career Advisor will reverse these emotions. They will help you see that the problem is not YOU, the problem is your PROCESS. They will give you expert guidance on how to fix your process, gain your confidence back, and start seeing results.
